The narrow gauge Mansfeld Mining Railway (Mansfelder Bergwerksbahn) is situated in the Mansfeld area between Eisleben and Hettstedt at the eastern margin of the Harz mountains. It operates with originalsteam and diesel locos on some weekends and on reservation. The 11 km long preservation railway is the remains of an up to 45 km long network betweencopper mines, smelting works and standard gauge stations, and therefore part of the long and rich mining history in this area.

• Situated at the touristic "Street of the Romanesque Period", and close to the scenic Harz mountains with the 130 km long narrow gauge system (Harzer Schmalspurbahnen,1000 mm, steam operation).
